Emmanuel College at the University of Cambridge was undertaking the largest fundraising and development project it had seen for decades.

The brief was to create a series of films that harness the essence of the institution - its history, community and impact - to support this campaign.

I saw the project through from start to finish, storyboarding then shooting and editing, bringing in additional crew where needed. The first video is the overall campaign promo, and below are other films from the series.

Director and camera - Ross Harrison | Sound recording and mixing - Upcycled Sounds | Aerial filming - Skyhook | Animation - Jenny Harrington

Are we being good ancestors?

The first film below asks this pressing question. Presented by writer and Fellow of Emmanuel College, Robert Macfarlane, the goal of this piece was to be visually creative, merging the global themes of human impact on nature with the specific setting of the College.

In the second film, a researcher discusses her fascinating work into mitochondrial DNA, the curiosity which motivates her research and its potential impact.
